Speaker 1:

Hello, I'm Sarah Freeman and I'm your host of Raw Podcast. We've been in here before and we've had some other podcasts running and, yes, it was called Raw Podcast, but we've added an extra W at the end. Now we're rebranding and we're called Raw, but it stands for Rad, active Water Women, and I cannot wait to bring so many incredible stories of water women from around the world to you. Each guest will have their story and their whole trailblazers working through their different stories and their inspiring moments and their brave moments and beyond that, and I can't wait to share that with you. And you're probably wondering well, what is a water woman? What does that even mean? I mean, I'll give you my definition and why I'm running this podcast. It's water women, that they love the water. That's number one. That's one thing we have in common, whether they're on the water, in the water, dipping their toes in the water, from sailors to competitive swimmers, to open water swimmers, to ice swimmers, to kayakers, to surfers, to people doing swim treats, to people designing swimwear or swim equipment that are water women, to coaches that are around the world, too, that coach women around open water swimming or competitive swimming. I can go on, but I think you get the point. This is about water women and your stories, and I cannot wait to interview each guest that comes on here once per month. It could be more than once per month, we'll see. But let's start off with that first, and I can't wait to share their journeys with you.

Speaker 1:

This was an inspiration that came up for me when I was in Australia and just seeing the different communities of women at the beaches going for their morning dips, whether they're wild swimmers or cold plunders. I just loved watching that community. It's absolutely beautiful and they're all women. So I was inspired to bring a new podcast to life, which is Raw Rad Active Water Women. They'll be coming at you in January.

Speaker 1:

I cannot wait to share all these stories. I am so excited. And just to give you a little bit about me, in case you don't know, I'm a swimmer too. I'm a water lover. I'm a competitive swimmer and an open water swimmer and yes, I am a cold dipper in the ice and in the summer as well. I can't wait to bring these stories to you. They're going to be inspiring. You're going to want to get in the water or be near the water, to heal, to grow, to be inspired, to be brave Urr, I should say Water Women. Thank you for listening and I cannot wait to take you along all of these journeys of incredible water women around the world.
